‘Hometime’

‘Hometime’ was a British Council travelling exhibition first shown in Beijing in 2003 and has since toured throughout sites in China. The aim of the show was to communicate current British domestic identity and its relationship to design through installations by a cross-section of designers. Block’s contribution was a home laboratory for a modern day Sherlock Holmes with a cork ‘spin-board’ wall and floor surrounded by a lace print office strip curtain. The ideas of surveillance and investigation were explored through CCTV cameras/monitors which picked up details of products within the space.
